There is a place no rivers run,
where white-eyed women watch the sun
and wait for thoughts to fill their heads
and wait for men to fill their beds.
And wait for life to get a start,
and hold their breath to feel their hearts.

But then before a thought's begun
the sun goes out for every one,
and white-eyed women float through space
to their forever empty place.
